Liganelli and Mercurio join FIL Development Committee

Hayes commented, “The FIL development initiatives are made stronger by the addition of Joanna and Rick to our committee. Their extensive experience in working with young players at every level gives us a solid base for future clinics for our members.”

 

Joanna Liganelli

Liganelli has been an active member of the international clinic staff for the past five years. She has also chaired the Lacrosse Coaches Education Program for the women’s game and was a writer for the Women’s Coaches Education Curriculum. A graduate of William and Mary College she was named to the All American regional team and participated in the annual North-South game in 1994. Joanna is currently employed by STX as women’s product manager, director of retail accounts and director of key accounts.

 

Rick Mercurio has been involved with the FIL clinic programs for four years conducting development clinics in Thailand, Belgium, Russia and China. A National High School Coach of the year in 1995 he led the Sachem High School to New York State Championships in 1993 and 2008. A 300 win inductee in 2004 he won Long Island Championships in 1993, 1995, and 2008. Rick holds degrees from Rutgers University, Adelphi University and Long Island University. A life long director of numerous lacrosse camps, he brings a wealth of experience in clinic procedures and organization. Rick will be deeply involved with coordination of international events by the FIL.
