Commissions, Committees, Councils + Working Groups

Listed are the types of committees and descriptions of each type.

Board Advisory Committees

… are business-specific committees support individual Board Directors to carry out their responsibilities as stated in Board Roles and Responsibilities document.

Commissions

… are specialist committees set up by the General Assembly or the Board.

Staff Advisory Committees

… are business-specific committees to support staff in the delivery of their work. 

Standing Committees

… are sport-determined and sport-specific permanent committees.

Strategic Advisory Council

… is a sounding board for staff, board and members to support the board’s strategic role with an aim of embedding activity throughout all WL activities. 

Subcommittees

… can be proposed by committees and commissions to report to them, but the term subcommittee will rarely be used as a heading. 

Working Groups

… are more informal task groups set up to enable any board director to carry allocated tasks or specific actions within the strategic plan and are short-term and time-limited.  Other committees may also set up working groups if agreed by the board.
