Lacrosse History Being Written in Peterborough

Nine countries are participating in the World Lacrosse Women’s U19 World Championship for the first time ever.  Here is a list of those countries and the athlete from each who scored the first-ever goal for their nation in the World Lacrosse Women’s U19 World Championship:
Belgium – Nina Verreth
China – Shannon Elizabeth Brazier
Chinese Taipei – Jo-Chi Chiu
Hong Kong – Eloise Bolitho
Ireland – Louisa Caitlin Brophy
Jamaica – Jada Williams
Kenya – Victory Akinyi Odhiambo
Mexico – Ashleigh Lourdes Rothe
Puerto Rico – Delaney Rodriquez-Shaw
Also, the Kenyan Women’s U19 Team is the first women’s team from the continent of Africa to participate in a World Championship event in lacrosse.  Kenya was competitive throughout in its opening game today, falling to Korea, 15-10.
