Australia, Host Scotland Among Winners on FIL Day One

(from Staff ReportsTwitter) The United States opened its FIL U19 World Championship with a rally past Canada for a 15-9 victory, one of seven games as the action got underway after opening ceremonies in Scotland.

Australia, the only team besides the United States to ever capture gold at a U19 event, opened with a big 28-2 victory over the Czech Republic, while host Scotland got off to a winning start with a 16-9 result against Germany.

Finland, England, Japan and Korea also earned wins on the day, with another seven games on the schedule for Friday in day two of pool action.
