World Teams and Most Valuable Players at 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships

World Lacrosse announced the men’s and women’s World Teams from the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships in Utica, New York on Sunday, with six players selected to each team, and one awarded the Most Valuable Player Award.

Teat was named the Most Valuable Player in the men’s box championship while Kennedy was named the Most Valuable Player in the women’s box championship.

Teat powered the attack for best team in the championship with 14 goals and 28 assists in six games.

Kennedy impacted all phases of the game for the United States as it won gold and still contributed 24 goals and four assists over seven contests. In the final 10-7 win over Canada to secure gold, Kennedy netted two goals.

Women’s World Team

Erin Bakes, United States

Bakes dominated with her scoring and playmaking, finishing the championship with 22 goals and 17 assists in seven games. She tallied two goals and an assist in the gold medal game and contributed four goals and an assist in a 26-2 semifinal win against Australia.

Ingrid Boyum, United States

Boyum was strong in net for the entire championship and turned in a heroic performance in the gold medal game for the United States. Her final numbers over five games were 94 saves and just 13 goals allowed, good for an 88% save percentage. Boyum saved 41 of 48 shots against Canada’s dynamic attack in the final, including limiting the team to just one goal in the first half.

Jordan Dean, Canada

Canada’s defender tallied two goals and eight assists in seven games. Dean’s play defensive end was crucial to Canada’s success en route to a silver medal. The team finished with the best scoring defense in the women’s box championship and did not allow a goal for the first three games.

Erica Evans, Canada

Evans made her mark in Utica as the most prolific forward in the women’s box championship, accumulating 33 goals and 22 assists in seven games, good enough for 55 points to lead all players. Her dominant performance included seven goals and four assists in a 19-3 semifinal win over Haudenosaunee.

Ally Kennedy, United States

In a star-studded women’s box championship, and on a team with outstanding players, Kennedy still took the crown as the best player. She impacted all phases of the game and still contributed 24 goals and four assists over seven games. She played a key role for the gold-winning United States and in a 10-7 win over Canada to secure gold, Kennedy netted two goals.

Megan Kinna, Canada

Kinna’s relentless attacking displays powered Canada’s offense through seven games as she finished with 24 goals and 13 assists to finish with the third-highest point total in the women’s championship. She dominated the Netherlands with six goals and three assists in a 33-2 quarterfinal win.

Men’s World Team

Christian Del Bianco, Canada

Scoring on Del Bianco was a tough task in Utica as he saved 87 shots while only allowing 17 goals throughout championship play for the gold medal winner Canada. He finished with a massive performance in the gold medal game, saving 51 of 58 shots.

Jack Hannah, United States

Hannah displayed his elite scoring and passing skills in the American attack, finishing with 15 goals and 10 assists in Utica. He tallied two assists in the gold medal game as the USA won its first-ever silver medal in the event.

Connor Kirst, United States

Kirst did a little bit of everything for the United States in transition, and still racked up nine goals in six championship games. His two goals, including a memorable game-winner, made all the difference in a 12-11 semifinal win over Haudenosaunee as the United States claimed a historic second-place finish.

Steve Priolo, Canada

Steve Priolo excelled in defense for Canada in its gold medal run, as the team slowed down prolific attacks belonging to the United States, the Haudenosaunee, England and Japan.He finished with two assists in six games and in the gold medal match, helped Canada limit the U.S. to just seven goals.

Randy Staats, Haudenosaunee

Staats exceptional attacking prowess around the goal was crucial again for the Haudenosaunee, as he finished with 13 goals and 17 assists in six games. In a quarterfinal win over Israel, he tallied a hat-trick and four assists.

Jeff Teat, Canada

Canada and Haudenosaunee play on September 22, 2024 in the World Lacrosse Box Championships in Utica, New York, USA.

Teat was the offensive engine for the best team in the championship with 14 goals and 28 assists in six games. In the gold medal game, he tallied a hat-trick and four assists to help Canada defeat the United States.
