World Lacrosse Partners With BelievePerform To Provide Athletes and Coaches With Mental Health, Psychology and Wellbeing Resources

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO, USA — World Lacrosse announced today a partnership with BelievePerform, the world’s leading source of performance psychology, wellbeing and mental health content for the sport community, to provide tools and resources for lacrosse athletes, coaches and administrators around the world.

The BelievePerform mission is to increase the awareness of sport and exercise psychology, with a passion for wellbeing and a range of online content designed to inform, inspire, educate and elevate the importance of mental health.

The World Lacrosse and BelievePerform partnership will provide resources and support for member-National Governing Bodies in four specific areas:

• Mental Fitness Training Plans: Training plans are short, applied and practical packs which include video PowerPoint presentations, worksheets, infographics, PDF booklets and audio files. They focus on helping athletes, coaches and staff learn how to use positive mental health habits to improve sport performance and mental health.

• World Lacrosse Mental Health Videos: Specific to World Lacrosse, these videos focus on practical ways coaches and athletes can integrate psychological skills to thrive on and off the lacrosse field.

• Mental Health Infographics: Access for NGBs to a wide range of infographics focused around all areas of sport psychology, physical health and mental health.

• Mental Fitness Online Courses: Educational online courses developed to provide World Lacrosse with a theoretical underpinning of sport psychology and mental health. Courses are over two hours in length and include video PowerPoint presentations, worksheets, infographics, PDF booklets and audio files. Courses will provide the World Lacrosse community with the knowledge and understanding of how to use practical skills to improve performance.

“Mental health is a critical topic that needs to be addressed. Our partnership with BelievePerform provides practical skills and resources for our World Lacrosse athletes during a time when anxiety is prevalent. It is vital to the health of our athletes,” said Dr. Karen Sutton, World Lacrosse Chief Medical Officer.

World Lacrosse member-NGBs will have access to BelievePerform resources at no cost through the NGB Toolkit portal on the World Lacrosse Website (worldlacrosse.sport). Partnering with BelievePerform provides World Lacrosse with a great opportunity to provide thousands of athletes and coaches with access to a wealth of practical and applied mental health resources.

“BelievePerform offers a vast pool of sports psychology resources that our team can call upon to help increase awareness and support for the wellbeing of our athletes, coaches and officials,” added Don Blacklock, World Lacrosse Technical Director. “The content is professionally developed, well-presented and will greatly assist World Lacrosse’s efforts to play a major part in helping the lacrosse family emphasize the importance of mental fitness.”
