WLA Job Openings – Senior Women’s Management Team

Following on from the success of the Senior Women’s World Cup Team being placed 5th in the World at the 2013 World Cup in Canada, the Welsh Lacrosse Association (“WLA” – the governing body for lacrosse in Wales) is seeking to put together a dynamic and progressive team of experienced coaches, technical sports professionals and management staff to support its elite Senior Women’s National Squads.

It is anticipated that through the sharing of skills, knowledge and expertise with all Wales’ elite squads, both men and women, we will be providing an integrated support structure which will allow all our high performing athletes to compete with the best in the world. We therefore invite applications from people who are excited at the thought of this challenge and believe that they have the time, energy and relevant expertise to take up one of these roles.

  1. Senior Women’s Team Manager (1)
  2. Senior Women’s Head Coach (1)
  3. Senior Women’s Assistant Coaches (1 or 2)
  4. Sports Psychologist (1)
  5. Senior Women’s Sports Physiotherapist (1)

Candidates are requested to submit their full CV, together with a summary paper of no more than 200 words, supporting their application and confirming the post for which they are applying by 17:00 hrs on Monday, 31st March 2014.

Once confirmed, it is expected these posts will be for a term lasting until the end of the 2017 Senior Women’s World Cup. Thereafter, the successful candidates will be given the opportunity to re-apply for the next campaign. Candidates should be clear in advance that these positions bear no financial rewards. Reporting lines and decision-making criteria will be defined to all candidates invited before the WLA interview panel, which shall retain the right of absolute discretion over final appointments. However, the Head Coach is expected to be appointed first and would then be consulted closely with regard to the other positions.

WLA retains the right of discretion to appoint an exceptional candidate to any of these positions prior to the deadline set out above. WLA supports equal opportunities.
