About Lacrosse Scotland

Lacrosse has a long history in Scotland with men’s and women’s games first being played in the late 1800’s. Indeed, the first ever game of women’s lacrosse in the world was played at St. Leonards School in St. Andrews.

Lacrosse Scotland Ltd was incorporated in 2005 when the Scottish Lacrosse Association reorganised into a company limited by guarantee. Lacrosse Scotland (LS) is a not-for-profit organisation which exists for the benefit of lacrosse in Scotland.

In 2011, the board moved to a smaller structure of 6 directors. This was so that these directors could focus on the strategy, supported by a group of new subcommittees.

The membership of Lacrosse Scotland is based around clubs, schools, and individual members. There are five mainstream variants of lacrosse played in Scotland including; women’s field, mixed field, men’s field, men’s indoor, and a children’s version of lacrosse called pop.

Vision:
To be recognised as a leading centre of Lacrosse in Europe.

Mission
To provide our members with outstanding Mixed and Men’s leagues that player’s dream of playing in.

To provide our club leaders with outstanding support enabling them to develop sustainable clubs composed of multiple teams, great coaches and knowledgeable officials.
