Austin Staats tied for the most goals in a game in San Diego with eight goals and an assist to lead the Haudenosaunee in their win over England. 

Will Vitelli was dominant on face-offs for Italy, winning 19 of 24 against Mexico. His efforts helped Italy gain possession in crucial situations to ward off multiple comeback attempts from Mexico in the second half. 

Per-Anders Olters did the heavy lifting for Germany’s offense, scoring four goals in an 11-8 win over Poland to get in the win column in Pool D.  

Khairi Sears was instrumental in Jamaica’s 10-5 win over Switzerland on both ends. He scored five goals and caused two turnovers, part of Jamaica’s defensive effort that saw Switzerland commit 16 turnovers overall. 

Scottish attacker Matty Rowarth matched Staats’ eruption with eight goals and an assist to help deliver a 12-4 win over Austria. 

Joseph Varela was excellent in goal for France as the team defeated Denmark, 13-4. The goalkeeper made 12 saves and allowed just four goals for a 75% save percentage. 

The action continues tomorrow with day four of pool play.
