TLA Founder Joins FIL Development Committee

(Toronto, Canada) The Federation of International Lacrosse is proud to announce the addition of Prantarit “Payu” Nerngchamnong to the FIL Development committee.
Payu is the President and Founder of the Thailand Lacrosse Association and has assisted with lacrosse development in Singapore and Malaysia, both recently becoming FIL’s 47th and 51st members respectively.
Payu served as the captain for the Thailand National team from 2010-2012, and coached the Thai team to Bronze at the ASPAC2013 Tournament in Beijing last year.
Tom Hayes, Director of FIL Development says, “Payu has been the driving force for the development of lacrosse in Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan. Due to his efforts, southeast Asia has been international lacrosse’s fastest growing region in the world.”
The Federation of International Lacrosse welcomes Payu as they work together to continue the growth and development of lacrosse around the world.

Prantarit Nerngchamnong with Thailand’s Men’s National Team at the 2014 World Championship in Denver

As President and Founder of Thailand Lacrosse, Prantarit “Payu” Nerngchamnong is responsible for spearheading the on-going development and growth of lacrosse in Thailand. Payu’s tireless efforts have resulted result in Thailand becoming an associate member of the FIL within 6 months of it’s founding. Fours short years later Thailand became the 29th full member of the FIL.

As co-founder of Singapore Lacrosse in 2011 and Malaysia Lacrosse in 2013, Payu helped both programs developmentally, financially, and in a consultative capacity. Both became 47th and 51st members of the FIL respectively in the 5 years of Payu’s initial lacrosse involvement at the International level.

Payu founded the Sunattee Growth Initiative foundation, to help with the development of lacrosse in Thailand and in various countries outside of Thailand.

The foundation is named after his late mother, Sunattee Nerngchamnong, who had helped him structure TLA prior to her passing in 2009. Currently, Payu has provided consultation and support for several countries lacrosse development efforts in the region such as Vietnam, Indonesia, and Bhutan.

Payu served as the captain for the Thailand National team from 2010-2012, and coached the Thai team to a Bronze medal behind Japan and Australia at the ASPAC2013 Tournament in Beijing last year. He successfully bid for the right to host the ASPAC2015 in Bangkok.

Payu is the 2014 recipient of FIL Development Committee Award in Denver.

Personal Profile

Payu is currently the Chairman of PNG (Prime Nature Group), a local real estate development company in Thailand that focuses on Premium Residential housing projects. He is also the CEO of the Enigma Global, a multidiscipline company which owns Enigma Development, Enigma Apparel, Enigma ThinkTank, and Enigma Competition. He also serves as the Strategic Consultant to the CEO of Tune Insurance in Thailand.

Prior to his 2010 appointment as the Chairman of PNG, Payu worked in the governmental sector. Payu serves under the Deputy Secretary Pol. Gen. Thani Somboonsab on National Security to Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, as well as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Minister of the Ministry of Industrial, before serving in the Office of Secretary General to the Prime Minister.
