TOM SUTTON

Tom has officiated at the highest levels of lacrosse, including several championship games in Major League Lacrosse (MLL) and National League Lacrosse (NLL) and two NCAA Division I finals. He was the referee-in-chief for the 2014 FIL World Championship in Denver and head referee for the 2006 ILF Gold Medal game. Tom has held leadership positions in numerous officiating organizations at the state and national levels including chairman of US Lacrosse’s Men’s Game Officials Subcommittee and Director of Development for the National Intercollegiate Lacrosse Officials Association. As a rules interpreter and a national clinician for US Lacrosse, he develops and trains officials in an effort to ensure consistency.

DENNIS MULRONEY

Dennis has a long association with the game of lacrosse as a player, administrator and on-field official at the local, national and international levels and is one of Australia’s most prominent lacrosse advocates. He has held positions with nearly every Australian lacrosse officiating and governing organization as well as with committees of the International Lacrosse Federation (ILF), which merged with FIL in 2008. In 2014, Dennis wrote the Australian Men’s Lacrosse Officiating Policy and Standards best practice guidelines adopted by the Australian Sports Commission. His on-field officiating experience includes serving as head referee for the ILF championship game in Perth 2002 and as an assessor to the referees at three ILF/FIL World Championships. He played for 22 years at the junior and senior levels for the Burnside Lacrosse Club, and in 2000, Dennis received the Australian government’s National Sports Medal for his contributions to lacrosse. He holds a life membership in the Australian Lacrosse Referees Association.

“I’m thrilled that we have been able to land two individuals with as much experience as Tom Sutton and Dennis Mulroney. Tom and Dennis each bring an immense knowledge of international lacrosse, with both having officiated and assessed at numerous world championships. They each know what it takes to create world class officiating programs and I am quite confident they will significantly contribute to the development of the next generation of international officials.”
—Don Blacklock, Chair of Men’s Officiating

ROB POWELL

Rob, as a member of the FIL Men’s Rules Committee, brings extensive experience at the national and international levels as a player, administrator and on-field official. He has chaired a number of groups for the Lacrosse Scotland men’s program including the Rules and Refereeing committee. Rob played for Scotland’s national team at seven European Championships and four ILF/FIL Men’s World Championships. As an official, he has refereed at the European Championships and most recently at the FIL Denver World Championship.

“Rob brings with him a diverse and long-spanning lacrosse resume. He understands the international game and the rules from both a player’s and an official’s perspective. His experience makes him a great fit for this role.”
