This is an exciting time for the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL). Six women’s teams competed in the 2017 World Games this past July in Wroclaw Poland. It was the first time that international lacrosse made an appearance at a multi-sport games since 1948, when it was included as a demonstration sport in the London Olympics.
The FIL is currently working towards formal recognition by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as it continues to add new members in a spectacular decade of growth (31 new members from 2007 to 2017).
To help support the infrastructure needed to maintain this rapid growth, the FIL is now actively recruiting an experienced educator to help chair its new Education and Training Committee (ETC). This is a volunteer role with no remuneration. However, it offers the right person a fantastic opportunity to help shape and deliver the FIL’s education and training strategy now and into the future.
The role is initially offered on an interim basis, with an immediate start and running through July 2018. There is a distinct possibility the role will be extended beyond that date. The initial focus will be to support the international officiating plan, but may extend into other FIL developmental areas in the future. For more details, please read the complete job description at Chair – FIL Education and Training Committee.Apply by submitting a completed application along with your CV/resume and cover letter: Apply Here. Please present your experience and how you believe you have the necessary skills, experience, knowledge and attributes for the role.
