Six teams roll to wins on day one of Women’s European Sixes Qualifier for The World Games 2025

The Women’s European Sixes Qualifier for The World Games 2025 opened action in Portugal on day one with six games, featuring comfortable wins for Germany, Poland, Israel, Czechia, Ireland and the Netherlands.

  • Israel 16, Switzerland 9
  • Czechia 16, Norway 3
  • Ireland 16, Austria 5
  • Netherlands 36, Croatia 1

The Netherlands’ Sophie Koedood led all scorers on the day with eight goals and five assists. Abby Stoller recorded seven points for Israel while Isabella Keys notched five points for Czechia.

The 12 teams are split into three groups of four, with eight advancing to the quarterfinals.

Each team plays twice on Thursday, and all six of Wednesday’s winners have a head start on securing their spots in the knockout rounds.

To qualify for the two spots available for the women’s sixes competition at The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, teams will need to win their quarterfinal and semifinal matchups.

Highlights on Thursday’s slate feature Israel vs. Poland, Germany vs. Netherlands and Czechia vs. Ireland. All three feature Wednesday winners and will have important stakes on seeding for the playoff bracket.
