The Haudenosaunee prevailed in a must-win game over Chinese Taipei, 24-4, to stay in the playoff hunt in Pool B at the women’s U20 championship.
The Haudenosaunee have a 2-1 record and will face Wales, who also has a 2-1 record, in a win-and-in game for a playoff spot on Tuesday at 11 a.m. HKT.
Both teams battled through monsoon-like conditions at Hong Kong Football Club Stadium, with the game experiencing a weather delay.
Paisley Cook was named the player of the game and finished with three goals and an assist as well as an 11 of 13 win rate on draws.
Five other players had three or more points for the Haudenosaunee, led by Jianna Lazore with two goals and four assists and Tallis Tarbell with five goals and an assist.
Sophie Powless and Kimora Swamp each made three saves.
Chloe King scored a hat trick for Chinese Taipei and Tabitha Goon went 6 for 11 on draw controls.
Chinese Taipei fell to 1-3 with the loss and will be back in action on Wednesday in placement play.
