Chinese Taipei races past Korea for first win of women’s U20 Championship

In the opening game of the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship, Chinese Taipei raced to a 17-11 win over Korea in Pool B action.

Chinese Taipei’s 8-2 run in the second quarter was the difference. Chloe King proved to be too much to handle with six goals while Annika Wray added five goals. Tabitha Goon contributed three goals and an assist and was named the player of the match for her overall contribution.

Jen-Ni Hsia and Chia-En Tsai combined for eight saves for Chinese Taipei.

Lauren Park impressed for Korea with six goals and an assist while goalkeeper Elena Oh made nine saves.

Chinese Taipei is back in action on Saturday against Wales at 2 p.m. HKT while Korea returns on Friday to face the Haudenosaunee at 2 p.m.
