Canada preps for upcoming Men’s U19’s

(Coquitlam) Canada is currently preparing for the FIL Men’s U19 World Lacrosse Championships to take place 7-16 July 2016 in Coquitlam (just outside of Vancouver), British Columbia.
As of this publish date, ten teams have committed to attend. They include seven-time defending champion USA, six-time runner-up Canada, one-time silver medalist Australia, along with U19 world championship tournament regulars England, Finland and Germany and newcomers Ireland, Israel, Hong Kong and Colombia. The CLA expects that more teams will be announced in the coming weeks.
The venue for the championship will be the Coquitlam Town Centre Park, which features four artificial turf fields and two natural grass fields. Main games will be played at Percy Perry Stadium with Ted Fridge Field, Dominic Mobilio Field and Cunnings Field also being utilized.

In conjunction with the U19 worlds, Coquitlam will also be hosting a 2016 World Youth Tournament for U19 Girls – July 9-11, 2016 and U15 Boys – July 13-15, 2016. The CLA is accepting team registrations through January 31, 2016.
