GREECE WINS HERITAGE CUP
The annual Heritage Cup, contested by composite teams representing eight countries, was played in Philadelphia at Bryn Mawr College this past weekend. Greece outlasted The Philippines to win the overall title. Hungary defeated Puerto Rico for 3rd place. Israel, Ireland, Poland and Lithuania finished out of the medal round. In the first U-15 tournament, Rising Sons defeated Israel U-15 to win the championship and the Iroquois Development squad finished in 3rd place. ROYALS WIN ENGLAND’S SUPER LEAGUE
The women’s Super League Finals were held in England this weekend. The Royals defeated the Storm to capture the overall championship.
MARYLAND WINS WOMEN’S AND VIRGINIA WINS MEN’S NCAA TITLES
The University of Maryland added another crown to their storied program, winning the women’s NCAA title in Baltimore this weekend. The Lady Terrapins defeated Boston College, 12-10, in front of a sold-out crowd. The University of Virginia took the men’s title in Philadelphia. Virginia defeated Yale, 13-9.
