Argentina Names World Championship Roster

(from press release) BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA – The Argentina Lacrosse Association has finalized the roster that will compete in the FIL World Lacrosse Championships this July in Denver. After months of hard work, the 23 players that will represent the celestes y blancos have been named.
The final decisions were made after a long selection process that started in early 2013 with the hiring of Coach Ben Brenneman – former Duke lacrosse co-captain, current head coach of Kent Denver School, and director of camps for 3d Lacrosse. Coach Brenneman traveled in Buenos Aires in December to conduct tryouts and training for the players. From the 2010 Championships in Manchester until now, all operations have been led by team advisor, former player, and Argentina Lacrosse Association co-founder Scott Hylen, who traveled many times to Argentina from the U.S. to provide support.
The majority of the roster is composed of players who represent the Guerreros of the University of Buenos Aires, and the Cebras of the National University of La Plata; both club teams have actively participated in the development of lacrosse in Argentina. The remaining players that will provide essential support are other Argentines from all over the world that play in other leagues, but have been fundamental in the development of the sport in the country over the last few years.
Team Argentina in not only dedicated to playing the sport, but also wants to let the world know that lacrosse exists in Argentina and that they are ready to be welcomed with open arms.
