Israel punched its ticket to the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship with a 10-2 win over Latvia in the second quarterfinal of the 2025 European Men’s Lacrosse Championship on Wednesday in Wroclaw.

It took more than seven minutes to break the deadlock when Sascha Gannon fired home on the assist from Jack Monfort, and a further 12 before Israel doubled its lead through Ian Kadish.
Goals on either side of half-time extended the advantage to 4-0 before Latvia hit back with tallies to Edvards Moens and Dzeimss Edwards Moens.
Israel regrouped and rattled off a run of six unanswered goals to secure its ticket to Tokyo and move on to the European Men’s Lacrosse Championship semifinal.
Aidan Housenbold notched three goals and two assists while Gannon added a pair of goals and a helper.
Israel became the second team in Europe to punch its ticket to the Men’s Championship in 2027, and joins Japan and England in the 16-team field.
Israel will make its fourth appearance in the championship, having participated in the last three editions dating back to 2014.
Latvia will play two more placement matches in Wroclaw and needs one more win to earn its bid.
Israel continues play at the European Men’s Championship on Thursday and will face England in the second semifinal at 7 p.m. CEST.
