February 8, 2019

Please be advised that an event calling itself the “World Junior Lacrosse Championship”, scheduled to take place in August 2019 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, is in no way affiliated with, or recognized by, the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL).

This event is being organized by a private entity and has no official standing or status within FIL.

The name of this event has generated questions and confusion in the lacrosse community; therefore, the purpose of this advisory is to make certain FIL members understand this event is not recognized by FIL, is not supported by FIL, and in no way should be considered a FIL World Junior Championship.

The Federation of International Lacrosse has been in contact with the event organizers and stressed the importance of immediately taking steps to clarify this confusion and make certain the lacrosse community understands this event is not a recognized FIL World Junior Championship.
