Box Lacrosse Officiating On The Rise – ELF Partnered With World Lacrosse At The Frank Menschner Cup

RADOTIN, Czech Republic — The Fourth Annual Frank Menschner Cup Box Lacrosse tournament concluded last week in Radotin, Czech Republic, with the home team LCC Wolves taking home their first Championship trophy. In addition to all the great action from the teams and players, two of the world’s top International Box Officials, Greg Hart and Keith Gagne were on hand to run a Box Referee Training Clinic on behalf of World Lacrosse. Not only were they there to mentor local officials and assist in the growth of Box Lacrosse for the European Lacrosse Federation (ELF), but they spent their fair share of time on the floor as well.

This appearance at the Frank Menschner Cup marks just one of many trips that Hart and Gagne have made to spearhead European officials’ training, including at the Ales Hrebesky Memorial (also in Radotin), Boxmania in Lille, and as the Head and Deputy Referees in Chief at the first European Box Lacrosse Championships in Turku in 2017.
Their efforts will pay off, with a large contingent of European Officials representing ELF-member nations at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships in Langley, BC this September.
