COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, USA – World Lacrosse today announced the formation of its Inclusion Advisory Council, established in March and comprised of eight individuals with expertise throughout the global sporting and lacrosse community.
The Inclusion Advisory Council is an advisory group intended to assist World Lacrosse in embedding inclusion principles and practices across the organization. The council replaces two Commissions created in 2020, the Women in Sport Commission and the Diversity & Opportunity Commission, with the aim of evolving toward meaningful progress in core activities of the federation.
The IAC meets annually as a group, with the majority of its work coming in smaller meetings with World Lacrosse staff to exchange and promote inclusion ideas so that they become mainstream in thinking and operation.
The IAC will also strategically advise the WL board of directors and individual National Governing Bodies by request.
The IAC can be comprised of up to 12 members, with an initial composition of eight:
- Sabah Cambrelen (USA, Chair) // World Lacrosse Board Diversity & Inclusion Director, PwC Workforce Transformation Partner
- Jules Heningburg (USA) // Black Lacrosse Alliance President, PLL Player
- Dr. Lombe Mwambwa (ZAM) // Global Observatory for Gender Equality & Sport Research Director
