The 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships roll into the business end with the quarterfinals set for the men’s and women’s championships on Thursday.
There are also eight more games of placement play in the men’s box championship
All of the playoff games will be streamed on ESPN+. Placement play is available to stream for free on WL TV.

Canada, the defending gold medalist in the men’s box championship, has maintained its undefeated record in the event, but had to hold off strong challenges from the United States and the Haudenosaunee in close games. The U.S. also sent a statement on opening night with a win over the Haudenosaunee to take the No. 2 overall seed in the playoffs.
Czechia, the European home of box lacrosse, has dazzled throughout the championship and has an opportunity to make the semifinals against England today.
Japan is also appearing in its first-ever men’s box championship, and has recorded wins in Utica over seasoned teams like Finland and the Netherlands.
Both Ireland and Israel earned their spots in the quarterfinals with thrilling one-goal wins in the playoffs.
In the women’s playoffs, Canada and the United States are the favorites to meet in the gold medal matchup and continue their simmering rivalry in a new discipline. The two will start their paths today against the play-in winners from yesterday.
The Haudenosaunee pushed the United States in their pool play meeting and will face Germany, while Australia taking on England is a classic rivalry battle in a new event.
