World Lacrosse will be spotlighting its member nations and highlighting their efforts to grow the sport around the world. World Lacrosse currently has 92 members across four continental federations.
Peru became a member of World Lacrosse in 2012 as the Peru Lacrosse Association and is now a full member of WL and has been a member of the Pan-American Lacrosse Association since 2019..
Peru Lacrosse’s men’s and women’s teams have both competed internationally and have a full event schedule in 2024 and beyond, with participation slated for qualifying events for World Lacrosse championships and development camps scheduled in Peru.
PLAX oversees the development of lacrosse in Peru, which has currently seen the growth of five club teams, including Lima Lacrosse, Arequipa Lacrosse, Vulcanos Lacrosse, Balmer Lacrosse, and Moquegua Lacrosse.
Peru will have two siblings competing on the men’s and women’s teams at the Heritage Cup in Andrew and Morgan Ortega. Additionally, Deb Arnold, who is a member of the women’s teams and serves on PLAX’s board of directors was selected as the winner of the Mrs. Texas America pageant.
