The United States automatically qualified to The World Games 2025 with a top-four finish at The World Games 2022 in women’s sixes competition in Birmingham, Alabama.
In 2022, the United States went 3-0 in pool play with wins over Australia, Japan and the Czechia. In pool play, the United States finished with a tournament-best +35 goal differential.
In the semifinals, the United States dominated Great Britain in a 21-5 victory. In the match, eight of the team’s 10 field players recorded three or more points. Ellie Masera led the way with six goals and two assists.
The United States fell just short in the gold medal game, falling 14-12 to Canada and earning the silver medal. Belle Smith scored five goals and goalkeeper Madison Doucette stood out with 12 saves.



More recently, the United States women’s U20 team claimed gold at the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship in Hong Kong, China.
Attacker Emma LoPinto was named Most Valuable Player of the championship. The United States had five additional players on the World Team: Madison Taylor, Maddie Epke, Lydia Colasante, Kori Edmondson and Shea Dolce.
The women’s box team also secured the first ever gold medal at the World Lacrosse Box Championships in 2024 in Utica, New York with a 10-7 win over Canada, and three athletes earned spots on the World Team in Erin Bakes, Ally Kennedy and goalkeeper Ingrid Boyum.


At The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, the United States will be in a pool with Czechia, Ireland and Australia. Pool play begins Thursday, Aug. 7, with the United States opening the tournament against Ireland at 9 a.m. China Standard Time.
