Czechia entered the Women’s European Sixes Qualifier in March in Portugal, vying for one of the final two berths at The World Games 2025. At the event, 12 teams competed for the final spots, with only the top two finishers earning qualification.
Czechia opened the tournament with dominant victories in pool play, defeating Norway, Austria and Ireland. In the quarterfinals, the team stormed past Poland. Through pool play and the quarterfinals, Czechia posted an impressive +62 goal differential.
In the semifinals, Czechia delivered another statement performance with qualification on the line. Against Germany, Czechia scored six goals in the opening 10 minutes to take a 6-2 lead. A five-goal run across the second and third periods extended the lead to 10-3 en route to a 15-5 victory.

Michaela Srchová powered the Czechia offense with four goals and an assist in the semifinal. She ultimately finished the tournament with a team-high 28 points and 23 goals. Goalie Kateřina Nájemníková was outstanding in net, recording 57 saves and a tournament-best 65% save percentage.
With qualification secured, Czechia faced Ireland again in the final. The rematch turned into a thriller, with Ireland claiming an overtime victory, 12-11. Isabella Keyes gave Czechia the lead with just over two minutes remaining, but Ireland’s Kendra Harris tied the match with 52 seconds left in regulation. Margaret Egan scored the game-winner a minute into overtime.
Czechia will return to The World Games after finishing eighth in Birmingham, Alabama, in 2022. The team will look to build on that performance in Chengdu.

At the World Games 2025, Czechia will play in Pool B with Australia, Ireland and the United States. Czechia’s first match will take place on Aug. 7th against Australia at 1 p.m. China Standard Time.
