Canada moved to 2-0 with another dominant Pool B performance on day three of the women’s U20 championship, defeating the Haudenosaunee, 22-4, at Shek Kip Mai Sports Park.
Canada’s 12-goal run from minute eight to minute 40 of the game emphatically decided the game.
The ball control to sustain Canada’s attack was provided by Beth Anderson, who went 21 of 28 on draw controls and was named player of the match.
Jami Macdonald stuffed the stat sheet with five goals and three assists. Lauren Black, Morgan White and Olivia Bladon filled out the attacking output with five, four and three points respectively.
Lauren Spence made five saves for Canada.
Sophie Powless had a strong second half in goal for the Haudenosaunee, with six of her seven saves coming after the break. Paisley Cook scored twice.
Canada is on its way to claiming the top spot in Pool B, with matchups remaining against Chinese Taipei and Korea.
The Haudenosaunee can still advance to the quarterfinals, and have crucial matchups remaining against Chinese Taipei and Wales.
