Four teams remain undefeated after two days of the 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship Division II in Wroclaw, Poland on Sunday.
Korea and Mexico battled to two-goal wins against Latvia and Hong Kong, China, who both had won their openers. Italy and New Zealand solidified their hot starts and both improved to 2-0.
Spain and Switzerland both picked up their first wins of the championship, with Switzerland thwarting Norway in the final seconds of the game.

Korea fended off Latvia to stay unbeaten in a dramatic battle of day one winners. Latvia nearly erased a three-goal deficit in the fourth quarter, but Helen Bae gave Korea the last insurance goal it needed, and finished with three goals on the day. Katelyn Lee also recorded a hat trick for Korea and was named the player of the match.

New Zealand pulled away from the Netherlands in the second half for its second win in a row. Sarah Butler gave New Zealand a crucial one-goal lead in the last minute of the first half, which sparked a 6-0 third quarter run. Brooke Bolstad finished with four points and provided a spark on the draw with 10 controls. Butler also tallied four points and was named player of the match.

Mexico started on fire with seven goals in 20 minutes against Hong Kong, China, and withstood a late surge in the fourth quarter from Hong Kong to cut the lead to two. Mexico’s second half defense only allowed three shots total. Sophia Lima and Ashleigh Rothe each tallied a hat trick for Mexico and Lima was named the player of the match.

Italy took care of Poland with a comprehensive win to improve to 2-0, with four players getting on the scoresheet twice. Elise Fawcett finished with a game-high four points. Goalkeeper Julianna Horning made four saves in the second half and was named the player of the match.

Switzerland made a last-minute defensive stand to hold off Norway and secure its first win of the championship in another thriller in the last slot of the day. Norway took a one-goal lead with three minutes to play, but Sofia Niklaus scored twice to swing momentum back in Switzerland’s favor. Norway had a free position shots with five seconds left to tie the game, but Michele Forny made her sixth save of the game to come up clutch for Switzerland. Forny was named the player of the game.
