Canada and the United States won handily in the semifinals of the Nissin Foods 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship at Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium on Friday in Tokyo to set up another gold medal encounter.
Canada controlled the ball from start to finish to dispatch the Haudenosaunee, 18-5, while the United States turned on the afterburners and put in one of its best performances on the draw in the championship to knock off Israel, 19-7.
The two teams will battle for the title on Sunday at 7 p.m. JST, marking the fourth straight women’s championship decided by the matchup. Canada will look to snap the United States’ gold-medal streak of four in the event.
Israel and the Haudenosaunee will face off in a historic bronze medal game, with both teams chasing a first-ever medal in the championship.
Saturday’s schedule features six placement games as the final standings from fifth to 16th will be determined. The full schedule can be found here.

Canada soared into the gold medal game with a superb semifinal showing, defeating the Haudenosaunee behind ball control and attacking efficiency.
Canada won 17 out of 26 draw controls and held the Haudenosaunee to just 15 shots. Canada shot 64% on its 28 shots, and 12 of the 18 goals were assisted in a clinical display of passing near the goal.
Jordan Dean sparked Canada with 10 draw controls, and added a ground ball and two caused turnovers to be named the player of the match.
Kassidy Morris shined with six goals and an assist, while Aurora Cordingley added four goals and an assist. Erica Evans provided the playmaking with three assists.
Canada has now advanced to the gold medal game for the fourth straight women’s championship, dating back to 2013, and will play on Sunday at 7 p.m. against the United States.
The Haudenosaunee have already secured their best-ever finish in the championship, but can aim at a historic medal in the bronze medal game at 4 p.m. against Israel.

The United States’ relentlessness powered the team past Israel into the gold medal game, extending the streak of top-two finishes in the women’s championship to 12, dating back to 1982. The United States has won nine of 11 gold medals and will go for its tenth against rival Canada on Sunday.
Israel found early success in front of goal and was tied 3-3 with the United States in the first quarter. Israel also found a mini-run in the third quarter to cut the lead to 10-6, but after that, the United States turned on the afterburners by winning 10 of the last 11 draw controls to seize control.
The United States finished with a 20-10 advantage on draw controls and a 14-8 edge on ground balls that tilted the shots to a 41-14 advantage.
The deep cast of United States attackers, aided by midfielders willing to add to the equation, was too much to handle for Israel, despite 11 saves from Julie Krupnick and Orly Sedansk.
Nine different players appeared on the scoresheet and seven had multiple points. Madison Taylor took over late with her physical dodges through the heart of the Israel defense, and she finished with five goals and an assist. Eliza Osburn racked up three goals and an assist while Emma LoPinto added a hat trick.
Jordyn Lipkin scored three goals in defeat for Israel, which will compete for a first-ever medal at a women’s championship on Sunday. The bronze medal game is scheduled for 4 p.m. against the Haudenosaunee.
