Lacrosse returns to the Olympic Games at LA28, with six men’s and six women’s teams competing in the sixes discipline. The journey there runs through three stages.

Continental Championships (Sep–Dec 2026)
Four regional championships open the pathway:
- Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championships (Oshawa, Canada, Sep. 29–Oct 4)
- Asia-Pacific Sixes Lacrosse Championships (Sunshine Coast, Australia, Oct. 5–10)
- European Sixes Lacrosse Championships (Salou, Spain, Nov. 2–18
- African Sixes Lacrosse Championships (Johannesburg, South Africa, Dec. 1–4)
The top 16 nations per gender — five each from the Pan-American, Asia-Pacific and European championships, one from Africa — advance.
World Lacrosse Sixes Championships (October 2027)
The inaugural WLSC crowns two world champions and serves as the primary Olympic qualifier, sending five men’s and five women’s teams to LA28. That includes the United States, which qualifies automatically as host, subject to participation at both the Pan-American championships and the WLSC.
Final Olympic Qualifying Tournament (early 2028)
The next six ranked teams from the WLSC get one last chance, with the winners completing the field of six for LA28.
