The World Games 2025 concludes after five days in Chengdu

The World Games 2025 women’s sixes lacrosse competition concluded on Monday in Chengdu, China, with the United States, Canada and Australia taking home medals.

The United States capped a dominant campaign with a 16-8 victory over rival Canada in the final, avenging its defeat at the last edition of The World Games in 2022.

Australia defended its bronze medal in a 13-12 instant classic against Japan, erasing a three-goal deficit in the second half and winning on a Georgia Latch golden goal in overtime.

The World Team featured Marie McCool as the Most Valuable Player, joined by Charlotte North and Shea Dolce also of the United States, Erica Evans and Brooklyn Walker-Welch of Canada and Georgia Latch of Australia.

Placement play concluded on Sunday for the four remaining teams, with England taking fifth place over Czechia and Ireland finishing in seventh ahead of China.

Overall, after five days of action and 18 games, 514 goals were scored in a thrilling showcase of sixes lacrosse at an average of 29 goals per game.
