The United States wrapped its undefeated pool play campaign with a dominant 18-1 win over Australia on Tuesday at the 2025 World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship in Korea.
The United States outshot Australia 56-12, allowed just five shots on goal and won 20 of 23 face-offs. The Americans led 7-0 at halftime and finished with a flourish in a 7-0 final quarter.
The United States improved to 3-0 and grabbed the top overall seed in the playoffs, returning to action in the quarterfinals on Thursday at 7 p.m. against the winner of England vs. Mexico.
Australia finished pool play at 1-2 and took the third seed. The Aussies’ quarterfinal is set for Thursday at 12 p.m. against the winner of Japan vs. Germany.
Jack Speidell shined on the afternoon with five goals and three assists. Colin Kurdyla added four goals.
Brady Wambach and Zach Hayashi excelled on face-offs for the Americans.
Ethan Jaffe made eight saves for Australia and Will Butler made eight.
