The Jamaica men held off a late Chile comeback to win a 21-20 thriller on day three of the 2026 Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championships on Thursday in Oshawa, Canada.
The United States and Haudenosaunee men also improved to 2-0 and are on the doorstep of qualifying for the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championships.
Brazil battled the Haudenosaunee but fell by six, setting up a monumental clash with Mexico on Saturday, with a spot in Sunday’s do-or-die fifth-place game on the line.
Day four features four games on the women’s side and two on the men’s. The United States and Canada men can secure qualification for the WL Sixes Championships with wins, and the Haudenosaunee men will clinch without playing if Canada beats Mexico. In the women’s event, the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and the Haudenosaunee all have chances to qualify.
The matchup between the Puerto Rico and Argentina women features the eighth- and ninth-place teams from the 2026 WL Women’s Championship in Tokyo, and a rematch of their pool play meeting which Puerto Rico won by four.
The Haudenosaunee women, who finished a best-ever fourth at that championship, face a Mexico team that took silver at the WL Women’s Championship Division II and is waiting to make its move.
The top two teams in each pool, in both the men’s and women’s events, will advance to the medal games and qualify for the 2027 WL Sixes Championships. The third-place teams will meet in Sunday’s fifth-place game for the final qualifying spot.
