Canada’s men and women both cruised to convincing wins in Oshawa on day one of the 2026 Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championships, opening their bids for the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championships in command of their pools.
The United States men also landed in the win column comfortably over Chile. Canada’s men took down Brazil, while Canada’s women handled Mexico. The Brazil men’s attack put up double-digit goals in defeat.
The top two teams in each pool, in both the men’s and women’s events, will advance to the medal games and qualify for the 2027 WL Sixes Championships. The third-place teams will meet in Sunday’s fifth-place game for the final qualifying spot.
The day two slate in Oshawa features five games of action, with the remaining 10 teams across both championships making their debut. The men’s contest between Puerto Rico and Jamaica features two teams qualified for the 2027 WL Men’s Championship in field lacrosse and will go a long way to determining who secures a top-two spot in the pool.
The Brazil women will make their World Lacrosse debut against Puerto Rico to start the day, while the United States women, the top ranked sixes team in the world, will open their campaign against Argentina, a top-ten ranked team in field lacrosse.
The Haudenosaunee men’s and women face Mexico and Jamaica.
