Canada kept its momentum rolling with its third win of the 2026 Pan-American Men’s Lacrosse Championship on Thursday in Kingston, Jamaica, while Mexico and Puerto Rico stayed in the hunt for qualification for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship.
Canada dispatched the U.S. Virgin Islands to secure a top-two spot in Pool B and qualification for the 2027 Men’s Championship. The United States, which won yesterday to improve to 2-0 in Pool A, mathematically assured its top-two finish in Pool A on Thursday and qualified for the 2027 Men’s Championship, ensuring that the top-two ranked teams in the world will be in the 16-team field in Tokyo.

Puerto Rico coasted past Colombia to pick up its first win this week. At 1-1, Puerto Rico is tied with Jamaica for second place in Pool A, and the two top-ten ranked teams will battle on Friday night with a berth in the Men’s Championship on the line for the winner in one of the most anticipated games of the championship. The loser will advance to the fifth place game on Saturday with another chance to qualify against the third place team in Pool B.
Mexico ended its pool play campaign with a bounce-back win over Argentina to move to 2-2. Mexico is in position for third place in Pool B and the fifth place game on Saturday, and while it could finish in second place in the pool with a sizeable win for the U.S. Virgin Islands over the Haudenosaunee, it cannot finish in fourth.
Friday’s action features four games to close out pool play, highlighted by the island blockbuster between Puerto Rico and Jamaica at 6 p.m. local time (UTC-5).
The Haudenosaunee face the U.S. Virgin Islands in the opener at 9 a.m. local time, and the U.S. Virgin Islands need to win by 11 goals or more to finish in second or third place in the pool.
The Haudenosaunee can clinch their qualification for the men’s championship with a win or a loss up to an eight-goal margin. If the Haudenosaunee take second place in Pool B, they will face the winner of Jamaica vs. Puerto Rico in the bronze medal game on Sunday.
