Jamaica and the Haudenosaunee punched their tickets to the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship with decisive wins on the final day of pool play at the 2026 Pan-American Men’s Lacrosse Championship in Kingston on Friday.
The Haudenosaunee, the third-ranked team in the world, earned its third win of the week over the U.S. Virgin Islands to take second in Pool B. Jamaica’s lockdown defense was on display again to smother Puerto Rico in a battle of the eighth and tenth ranked teams in the world.
The Haudenosaunee and Jamaica will meet in the bronze medal game on Sunday. They join the United States and Canada, who both stayed undefeated with wins on Friday, as four of the five teams qualified from PALA to the Men’s Championship in Tokyo.


Jamaica will appear in the Men’s Championship for the third time, while the Haudenosaunee are making their ninth appearance. Both the United States and Canada have appeared in every edition of the event dating back to 1967 and will make their 15th appearance in 2027.
The fifth and final spot available from PALA will be determined on Saturday in a matchup between Puerto Rico and Mexico at 5 p.m. EST (UTC-5).

The U.S. Virgin Islands managed 21 shots compared to 35 for the Haudenosaunee, but the Haudenosaunee attack posted exceptional efficiency with a 63% shooting percentage.
Three different players soared to six-point outings for the Haudenosaunee: Koleton Marquis scored six goals, Gregory Elijah-Brown recorded three goals and three assists, and Winter Rivera notched two goals and four assists.
Julien Watts had a strong day on face-offs with 18 won out of 23. Saka Thompson and Jack VanValkenburgh combined for eight saves on 10 shots faced.

Canada claimed the championship’s first shutout win, following a stretch in which it had allowed just seven goals over its previous three games.
Canada outshot Argentina 48-4, and won 23 of 28 face-offs.
Twelve different players scored for Canada, with Finn Thomson leading the way with six goals on nine shots. Thomson is now up to 25 points through four games. Thomas McConvey added five points.

The United States sailed to its third win in three games in Jamaica with a 60-6 shot advantage on Colombia, and nearly reached a 50% shooting percentage.
Fourteen different players scored out of 22 on the roster, as the United States posted the best single-game team scoring output of the championship.
Jackson Eicher paced the Americans with seven goals, while Brian Kelly added three goals and three assists. Six different players won face-offs, with Luke Weirman winning 12 out of his 13.

Jamaica and Puerto Rico finished nearly even on shots, but Jamaica’s dominant 7-0 run across the second and third quarters took Puerto Rico completely out of the game.
The Jamaica defense and goalkeeper Nate McPeak made 11 saves and allowed just one goal in those two quarters on 22 shots total. McPeak finished with 16 saves at an exceptional 73% clip.
Jaden Algarin performed well in net for Puerto Rico and finished above 50% in save percentage with 14 stops.
Hayden Hiltz’s heroics powered Jamaica with four goals, including a hat trick within Jamaica’s 7-0 run. Stone Evans added three goals and an assist.
