Jamaica clinched its spot in the play-in round with a decisive 18-6 win over New Zealand at the 2025 World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship on Tuesday in Seogwipo, Korea.
Jamaica scored eight goals in a blistering opening frame to take care of business early in the Jeju afternoon heat, and rode its lead the rest of the way. Jamaica allowed just nine shots total and won 20 of 28 face-offs.
Jamaica improved to 2-1 and secured the second spot in Pool C and a spot in the play-in round. Confirmed on Tuesday afternoon as the 10th seed, Jamaica will face Ireland in the play-in round on Wednesday at 12 p.m. for a spot in the quarterfinals.
Jamaica’s first quarter flurry included a hidden ball trick goal to go up 6-1.

Stone Evans impressed early with his shot creation and finished with five goals and two assists. Quincy White added four goals and Grayson Bromfield recorded a hat trick.
Domani White was a standout on face-offs for Jamaica and the team overall forced 27 turnovers from New Zealand.
Kieran Snape made 11 saves for New Zealand, while Noah Perez scored three and Ben Cowen assisted two.
New Zealand will continue in placement play on Wednesday.
