For the second time in four days, Jackson Davies preserved a one-goal lead for England with a dramatic save in the final seconds, this time denying Jamaica in a 14-13 heartstopper for seventh place at the 2025 World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship on Saturday afternoon in Korea.
England led 10-4 at halftime and Jamaica launched a massive comeback, scoring six goals in the third quarter to trail 11-10. England pushed the lead back to three at 14-11 with four minutes to go, sending Jamaica to the brink in both teams’ final game of the championship.
Jamaica emptied its tank and cut the lead to two with two minutes left, and then to one with one minute to go. Jamaica won the ensuing face-off, but turned the ball over with 42 seconds left. In another helter-skelter scramble in Seogwipo, Jamaica pressured England into a turnover around midfield and worked the ball to Quincy White, who had just scored his fourth goal of the game.
White was pushed wide but found an angle he favored on the right side, only for Davies to parry away the shot with an acrobatic kick save to seal the 14-13 win and spark England scenes of triumph.
Davies incredibly smothered Mexico’s behind the back attempt with one second left in the play-in game in Wednesday, and made the biggest play of the game again, this time against one of Jamaica’s star attackers.

England secured its second win of the tournament against Jamaica, having won 14-11 in an entertaining opener for both sides. Jamaica pushed England to its limit the second time in a sizzling grudge match between two top-ten teams.
Jamaica finished in eighth, a one-spot improvement over its debut at the event in 2022.
Davies made six saves for England in the win. On the whole Jamaica outshot England 43-25, but the shots on goal advantage was just 20-16, with England’s measured shot selection and sharp finishing standing out on the day.
Drew Wilkinson delivered for England with four goals, and Jamie Mochan impressed on the day with two goals and two assists. Owen Shuttleworth added three assists.
Jamaica’s trio of Carl Hyman, Stone Evans and Quincy White combined for 13 points and Domani White spurred Jamaica to a 20 of 27 advantage on face-offs. White stepped up in a big way with the absence of Elias-Shadeed McLaughlin, Jamaica’s second most prolific attacker through the tournament.
The Jamaica defense also recorded 11 caused turnovers and forced England into 20 overall.
Wilkinson led all goalscorers for England through seven games with 18 goals and an assist. Archie Gold had the most points overall with 14 goals and eight assists while Ellis Baythorpe and Zak Spreckley both finished with over 10 points.
Davies made 39 saves total at just under a 50% clip, splitting time with Joachim Ruby, who made 27 saves.
Evans paced Jamaica with 24 points in seven games, and the team received strong attacking contributions from Hyman with 19 points, Shadeed-McLaughlin with 18 and Quincy White with 14.
