Chinese Taipei overcame a resilient Kenya effort for a 9-6 win on Friday at the 2025 World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship in a rematch of pool play on Jeju Island.
Chinese Taipei won the first matchup 15-5, and faced a tougher challenge in Kenya’s final game of the championship, with Kenya staging a late comeback to cut the deficit to one in the final quarter.
Bo-An Chen closed the game with two goals to see out the win and the defense kept Kenya scoreless for the final six minutes.
Chinese Taipei will play its last game in Jeju against Hong Kong, China on Saturday at 9 a.m., with the winner taking 17th place.
Kenya closed its six-game campaign in Korea in 19th place, scoring 29 goals in its second appearance at the championship.
Bo-An Chen starred once more for Chinese Taipei, with three goals and an assist. Ming-Hung Chen added a hat trick.
Wen-Han Lee made 10 saves while Leonidas Reito-Chang went 13 of 19 on face-offs.
Renny Gabriel stood out with a game-high five goals for Kenya. Neval Otieno also made 10 saves.
