Canada and the United States won comfortably in their semifinals at The World Games 2025 on Sunday to set up a blockbuster gold medal game in the women’s sixes competition in Chengdu, China.
The two rivals have met in the previous two finals of The World Games, with the United States winning in field lacrosse in 2017 and Canada taking the first sixes matchup in 2022. The final is set for Monday at 11:30 a.m. local time (UTC+8).
Japan and Australia will meet in the bronze medal game at 10 a.m. in another edition of a budding rivalry. Australia has long held the upper hand between the two Asian foes, but Japan recently knocked off Australia in field in the bronze medal game of the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship and in the final of the 2025 Asia-Pacific Women’s Lacrosse Championship.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Great Britain defeated Czechia for fifth place and Ireland won against China for seventh place.
