Super Sixes – Hong Kong concluded with a thrilling final day of action on Sunday that resulted with FOGO Stealers securing the gold medal in the men’s competition and the Global Lacrosse squad taking the gold medal in the women’s competition.
In the men’s competition, the Philippines edged Germany 17-16 in overtime in the semifinals. The FOGO Stealers knocked off the Philippines 21-19 in another close game for the title, while Germany secured the bronze medal against Hong Kong, China.
In the women’s competition, the Global Lacrosse team edged Team Kanto, 15-14, in an exciting matchup. Global Lacrosse consolidated on its momentum and handled Germany 12-6 in the final while Team Kanto defeated China for the bronze.
Sixes competition will continue internationally ahead of the first World Lacrosse Sixes Championships in 2027, which will be feature joint men’s and women’s championships.
In 2025, women’s sixes will take the stage at The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China in August with three spots in the eight-team field to be determined in the coming months, with Australia, Canada, China, Great Britain and the United States locked in to the event.
The top finishing team at the 2025 Pan-American Women’s Lacrosse Championship in January outside of Australia will earn a spot, and the top two teams outside of Great Britain at the 2025 EuroLax Sixes Cup in Portugal in March will earn a spot.
