The Puerto Rico men became the eighth team to qualify for the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championships with a hard-fought win over Chile on day five of the 2026 Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championships.
The final day of pool play in Oshawa on Saturday features dramatic battles for places in the decisive fifth-place games. On the women’s side, Argentina plays Brazil while Mexico faces Jamaica, and on the men’s side, Mexico meets Brazil. Puerto Rico can clinch the fourth men’s qualification spot with a win over Chile, which would also send Jamaica to the fifth-place game against the winner of Mexico v Brazil.
Canada and the Haudenosaunee then meet in a men’s and women’s doubleheader, with both games determining who advances to Sunday’s gold medal game. The United States and Puerto Rico women also play for a gold medal game spot, while the United States men have theirs locked up.
