Puerto Rico and the Haudenosaunee each collected a pair of wins as their men’s and women’s teams opened play on Wednesday, day two of the 2026 Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championships in Oshawa.
The Puerto Rico men picked up the most crucial win of the day against Jamaica, in a battle of two teams that qualified for the 2027 WL Men’s Championship in field lacrosse. Jamaica beat Puerto Rico at the 2026 Pan-American Men’s Lacrosse Championship in August, but Puerto Rico returned the favor behind a strong goalkeeping performance from Will Mark and a six-point outing from Joshua Balcarcel.
The top-ranked United States women debuted in style against Argentina, while Puerto Rico and the Haudenosaunee also earned commanding wins. They join Canada as the four unbeaten teams in the women’s event.
The Haudenosaunee men closed the day with a decisive win over Mexico, joining Puerto Rico, Canada and the United States as the four unbeaten men’s teams.
Day three features three games, all on the men’s side. Jamaica and Chile will battle for their first win, while the Haudenosaunee face Brazil in search of their second. The United States and Puerto Rico meet with a win apiece, and the winner will take command of Pool A.

The top two teams in each pool, in both the men’s and women’s events, will advance to the medal games and qualify for the 2027 WL Sixes Championships. The third-place teams will meet in Sunday’s fifth-place game for the final qualifying spot.
