The United States achieved perfection in a 26-0 quarterfinal win against England on Thursday night at the 2026 World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship in Seogwipo, Korea.
In a gaudy night by the box score, the United States allowed just four shots total and won all 30 face-offs in the game. The Americans shot 26 of 45 with 34 shots on goal.
Per USA Lacrosse, the only other shutout in U.S. Men’s National Team history — in any discipline, senior or junior — was a 27-0 victory over Japan in the 2008 Men’s U19 Championship.
The dominant night marked the United States fourth win in a row and sent the team into the semifinals. The United States will take on the fourth seeded Haudenosaunee on Friday evening at 7 p.m. as it looks to keep its unblemished gold medal streak in the Men’s U20 Championship alive.
England moved into play towards fifth place, and will face Puerto Rico on Friday at 7:10 p.m. in an exciting matchup between the sixth and eighth place finishers from 2022.
Brady Wambach and Zach Hayashi combined for a a flawless night on face-offs for the United States.
Five different players notched hat tricks for the United States. Timothy Shannehan was the best of the bunch with three goals and seven assists while Jack Speidell dominated in the first half en route to three goals and four assists. Brendon Millon added six points.
Joachim Ruby made five saves for England.
