Four play-in round winners on day six advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2025 World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship in Seogwipo, Korea, highlighted by a pair of thrillers.
Jamaica upset Ireland, the seventh seed, to secure a best-ever finish in the event, while England dramatically stopped a Mexico comeback in the dying seconds in the eighth vs. ninth seed matchup.
Japan and Puerto Rico both won comfortably to set up another action-packed slate of knockout play action.
The four quarterfinals begin on Thursday at 9 a.m., starting with the Haudenosaunee vs. Puerto Rico, followed by Australia vs. Japan, in two of the most anticipated games of the championship.
Then Canada takes on Jamaica and the United States faces England in the afternoon as the two title favorites return to action.
Additionally on Wednesday, six teams played in placement play towards 13th place, with Israel, New Zealand and China winning to join Korea in a four-team bracket over the next three days.
