World Lacrosse today announced the 44-game schedule for the Nissin Foods 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship, set to be hosted by the Japan Lacrosse Association in Tokyo from July 24 to August 2.
The 16 teams were drawn into four groups for pool play, which will take place over five days. Eight teams will advance to the playoffs ahead of the semifinals and medal round.
All teams earned their places in the championship through continental qualifiers, and the draw accounted for the current rankings of the field and Continental Federation balance.
The championship will take place at two venues in Tokyo, with Oi Stadium hosting eight days of competition at up to six games per day, and Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium hosting the semifinals and medal round.
After the opening ceremony on Friday, July 24, competition commences with the host Japan taking on Czechia at 6:30 p.m. JST, with Israel and the Philippines facing off concurrently in Pool D play.
The rest of the field joins the action on Saturday, July 25, headlined by the debuts of top-ranked teams. The United States starts its title defense against Ireland at 9 a.m. JST / 8 p.m. ET Friday.
Later on Saturday, defending bronze medalist England takes on Puerto Rico at 3:30 p.m. JST / 7:30 a.m. BST before defending silver medalist Canada closes the opening day slate against Australia at 6:30 p.m. JST / 5:30 a.m. ET.
Pool play will continue through Tuesday, July 28, with the top two teams from each pool advancing to the quarterfinals on Wednesday, July 29. The quarterfinal matchups are predetermined by pool finish, as designated below.
The semifinals are set for Friday, July 31, at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. JST, and the medal round will conclude the championship on Sunday, August 2, at 4 and 7 p.m. JST.
