Jamaica bounced back from its opening day defeat to take care of Korea in a 17-7 win on Saturday evening in Seogwipo at the 2025 World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship.
Needing a win to stay in the race for the top two spots in Pool C, Jamaica answered the call against a 1-0 Korea side with a ruthless offensive showing.
Jamaica shot 17 of 37 for a near-50% clip on the day, using an impressive array of dodges from its attacking cast to consistently shoot from good positions.
Jamaica’s 14-6 advantage on ground balls was key, as was Jamaica’s defense, which held Korea to just 11 shots on goal and an overall 26% shooting percentage. Jamaica did its damage early with a 5-0 lead and kept Korea from cutting the gap to more than five the rest of the night.
Elias Shadeed-McLaughlin stayed hot in Jeju with seven points on six goals and an assist after a hat trick on day one.
Stone Evans and Carl Hyman both recorded stat lines of three goals and two assists.
Saeng Ryo made eight saves for Korea. Tanner Hahm had four points and Ryan Baik added a hat trick.
Jamaica has two days off until facing New Zealand on Tuesday. Korea plays on Monday against England.
