The Haudenosaunee won the gold medal in the men’s and women’s competitions at the 2025 Pan-American Lacrosse Association Sixes Cup in Humacao, Puerto Rico on Sunday, defeating the host in both finals.

The Haudenosaunee men competed in the PALA Sixes Cup for the first time, and powered past Puerto Rico 15-12 on the final day of competition to finish with a 5-0 record. Chile finished in third place for the bronze medal, besting Mexico, Peru and and Brazil.
The Haudenosaunee women defeated Puerto Rico in the final, 16-9, to defend their title from the last edition of the event in 2023. Argentina secured the bronze in the women’s competition, finishing ahead of Mexico and Brazil.
The Pan-American Lacrosse Association will stage two events in 2026. The Pan-American Men’s Lacrosse Championship will serve as a qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in Japan, with five spots up for grabs in the 16-team field. In 2023, Canada, Haudenosaunee, Jamaica, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico and the United States all were in the 30-team field, which presages a tightly contested qualifier this time around.
Additionally, the 2026 Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championship will serve as the first step in the Olympic pathway as a qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championships, with full details on the allocations to the WLSC coming soon.
Additionally, the top three women’s finishers at the Sixes Cup – Haudenosaunee, Puerto Rico and Argentina – will represent PALA alongside Canada and the United States in the 16-team field at the 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship in Tokyo, Japan, set to begin in late July.
