The Men’s U20 Championship has been contested ten times, most recently in 2025 in Seogwipo on Jeju Island in Korea.

The field started at four teams, increased to 12 teams by 2008, and was at 23 teams in 2022 before a field of 19 teams in 2025. The next men’s U20 championship is set for 2029.

The United States has claimed nine gold medals, while Canada has one gold medal, winning the most recent championship 6-5. The medal was Canada’s 10th in the event. The Haudenosaunee have four, while Australia has three.
