England stayed undefeated through two games at the 2025 World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship by shutting down New Zealand for a 17-3 victory in Seogwipo on Sunday.
The two teams were tied through the first quarter, and then England took over, blanking New Zealand for the second and third frames while scoring six itself in each en route to the win.
England took 44 shots and 27 on goal and allowed just 18 shots for New Zealand with only 12 on goal.
England improved to 2-0 and the top spot in Pool C, with the other three teams in the pool carrying at least one loss.
England’s goalkeeper Joachim Ruby and Jackson Davies combined for nine saves on 12 shots faced to clean up the the defense’s strong afternoon.
Offensively, six players had multi-goal efforts for England in the balanced showing, with three collecting hat tricks in Ben Jackson, Archie Gold and Ellis Baythorpe. Gold amassed seven points on three goals and four assists while Zak Spreckley continued his strong form in Jeju with two goals and three assists.
Kieran Snape made six saves for New Zealand.
England will look to wrap up its undefeated pool play phase against Korea on Monday, while New Zealand will take on Jamaica on Tuesday.
